These terms apply to the use of CoverIt Home, including the mobile app, backend, support features, subscriptions, payments, storage and associated services.
The service is provided by:
CHORIFY TECHNOLOGIES AS
Organisation number: 937 470 789
Norway
Contact: support@getcoverit.com
By creating an account or using CoverIt Home, you accept these terms.
1. About CoverIt Home
CoverIt Home is a service for individuals who want to record, organise and document belongings, receipts, photos, values and insurance-related documentation.
The app can be used to:
- record items and values
- store photos of items
- store receipts and documentation
- organise belongings into categories
- calculate the total value of selected items
- generate PDF reports
- prepare documentation for an insurance claim
- contact customer support
- manage subscriptions and storage limits
CoverIt Home is a documentation tool. The app is not an insurance company, insurance broker or legal adviser.
2. User account
To use the service, you must create a user account with accurate information. You are responsible for keeping the information you provide accurate and up to date.
You are responsible for:
- keeping your password and login details confidential
- all activity on your account
- notifying us if you suspect unauthorised access
- using the service in accordance with the law and these terms
We may suspend or terminate an account if it is used in breach of these terms, in cases of misuse, security risks, non-payment or unlawful activity.
3. Email verification
When you create an account, we may send you a welcome email with a link to confirm your email address.
You should confirm your email address so that we can send important account messages, replies to support requests, payment and subscription information, and help you with forgotten passwords or account issues. Failure to verify your email address may limit certain features.
4. User content
You own the content you enter in CoverIt Home, such as photos, receipts, documents, descriptions and information about belongings.
Your content is private within the app. It only becomes visible to other parties if you choose to export, share or forward reports and documentation.
By using the service, you grant CHORIFY TECHNOLOGIES AS a limited right to store, process, display, back up and transfer your content to the extent necessary to provide the service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- the content you enter is lawful
- you have the right to upload and store the content
- information used for insurance purposes is accurate
- you do not upload unlawful, offensive or harmful content
- you do not upload sensitive information that is not necessary
5. Insurance documentation and PDF reports
CoverIt Home can help you create PDF reports and documentation that you can send to insurance companies or other recipients yourself.
You are responsible for the content of the reports, the accuracy of the documentation, sending reports to the correct recipient, complying with the insurance company's requirements and keeping original documentation where required.
We do not guarantee that a report from CoverIt Home will be accepted by an insurance company or that an insurance claim will be approved.
6. Subscriptions, pricing and payments
CoverIt Home may offer free use and paid subscriptions. Subscriptions may have limits on item counts, storage space, features, synchronisation and cloud storage, among other things.
The number of items shown for a pricing tier is a maximum limit, not a guarantee that every user can store that number regardless of data volume. Actual capacity depends on how much information is stored per item, including the number and size of photos, receipts, PDF files, documents, descriptions, notes and other associated information.
You may therefore reach the storage limit in GB before reaching the maximum item count. Once either the item limit or the storage limit for your subscription is reached, you may need to delete or reduce stored content, or upgrade your subscription, before adding more content.
Current prices and limits are shown in the app or on the website. Prices may change, but changes to ongoing subscriptions are handled in accordance with the payment provider's rules and applicable law.
Payments are handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play or another specified payment provider. Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds follow the rules of the payment channel you used. We do not store complete payment card details.
7. Free use and limits
Free use may be limited to a certain number of items, storage capacity or features. If you reach a limit, you may need to upgrade to a paid subscription to add more content or use additional features. We may adjust free limits and subscription plans over time.
8. Right of withdrawal and cancellation
Consumers may have a right of withdrawal under applicable law. If a digital service is used immediately after purchase, this right may be limited where permitted by law and where you have consented to immediate delivery.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the app, the Apple App Store, Google Play or another specified solution.
When a subscription ends, access to paid features, cloud storage or further uploads may be restricted. We may nevertheless give you a reasonable period to export or reduce stored content where practicable.
Cancelling a subscription, downgrading or deleting a user account does not automatically entitle you to a refund for a purchased subscription, storage space or the current subscription period, unless required by mandatory law or the payment provider's rules.
9. Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your account. When an account is deleted, personal data, registered belongings, photos, receipts, documents, support history associated with the user and other stored data linked to the account are also deleted, unless we are legally required to retain certain information.
Account deletion is permanent. You are responsible for exporting or saving copies of documentation, PDF reports, photos and receipts before deleting the account.
If you have an active paid subscription, you must also cancel it through the Apple App Store, Google Play or the payment channel you used to stop future billing. Deleting your account does not automatically result in a refund for a subscription already paid for or unused storage space, unless mandatory law gives you that right.
10. Support
You can contact support through the app. When you create a support case, it receives a case number, and customer service can reply by email.
We aim to respond within a reasonable time, but do not guarantee a specific response time unless expressly agreed. Support must not be used for emergencies, legal advice, insurance advice or urgent security matters.
11. Acceptable use
You must not use CoverIt Home to:
- break the law or infringe third-party rights
- upload unlawful, harmful, misleading or offensive content
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or data
- disrupt, damage or overload the service
- bypass subscription limits, security mechanisms or payment systems
- upload viruses, malware or technically harmful content
- commit fraud or create false documentation
12. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service stable and available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical faults, updates, third-party provider failures, security incidents or circumstances beyond our control.
We may change, improve, restrict or discontinue features where necessary for operations, security, product development or commercial reasons.
13. Third-party providers
CoverIt Home uses third-party providers for services including hosting, databases, file storage, payments, email, app distribution and notifications.
The service may therefore depend on providers such as Render, Neon, Cloudflare, Apple, Google Play, Stripe, Expo and email providers. We are not responsible for failures or downtime affecting third-party providers beyond what is required by mandatory law.
14. Privacy
Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you agree to personal data being processed as described there. The Privacy Policy is available in the app and may be updated when necessary.
15. Backups and exports
We recommend keeping your own copies of particularly important documents, receipts and photos. Although CoverIt Home offers storage and documentation, the service is not intended to hold the only copy of critical documents.
16. Limitation of liability
CoverIt Home is provided as an organisation and documentation tool. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost data, rejected insurance claims or other consequences arising from users' own information, misuse, third-party failures or circumstances beyond our control, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
In any event, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the preceding 12 months, unless mandatory law gives you stronger rights.
17. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms when necessary. If significant changes are made, we will provide information in the app, on the website or by email where necessary. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means that you accept the updated terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. We will seek to resolve disputes through dialogue. If a dispute remains unresolved, it may be brought before the ordinary Norwegian courts, unless mandatory consumer law entitles you to another form of dispute resolution.
